When It Is ADHD
TAKE CHARGE BY UNDERSTANDING YOUR TREATMENT OPTIONS
There are many strategies to manage ADHD for all ages and stages of life. The most beneficial treatment for ADHD has been shown to be a multimodal approach. This means that several different strategies are used, which can include:
- Medication
- Education (sometimes called “psychoeducation”)
- Behavioural therapy (part of what is referred to as “psychosocial” treatment)
The main goal of this multimodal approach is to improve ADHD symptoms and overall quality of life.
There’s no “one-size-fits-all” treatment plan for ADHD
Your doctor will work closely with you to develop the best plan for your unique needs and goals. Your plan may change and evolve over time based on your symptoms and response to treatment.
Your treatment can help with your symptoms, so it’s important to stick with it. If you find that it’s no longer working, talk to your doctor about making adjustments.
